No purchase required. Complete the entry process via the form at https://dvtail.com/our-clients/cim-magazine/promo/ during the Contest Period. Only participants who have filled in all required fields will be eligible. The contest runs February 27 to March 2, 2022 (the “Contest Period). Only one entry per person will be accepted for the duration of the Contest Period. DOVETAIL COMMUNICATIONS INC (the “Contest Promoter”) does not accept entries for this contest by phone, fax, courier, mail or email.
Grand prize: There is one grand prize to win. The grand prize is a YETI ROADIE HARD COOLER as selected by DOVETAIL COMMUNICATIONS INC. The chosen participant will not receive the difference in cash between the approximate value and the real value. Chances to win will depend on the number of valid entries received.
Limitation. There is a limit of one (1) prize per person.
The following conditions and restrictions apply to the grand prize:
The winner must be nineteen (19) years of age or over.
The winner must respect all the instructions given by the promoter, or they may be declared forfeit from declaring the prize or continuing to benefit from it.
The promoter shall not be responsible for weather conditions, cancellations or other factors that cannot be reasonably controlled by the promoter that prevent the prize from being used. If such be the case, the winner shall not have the right to a replacement prize or the equivalent in cash.
The winner cannot choose to take the $350 cash value of the prize instead of the prize.
DOVETAIL COMMUNICATIONS INC. reserves the right to substitute all prize(s) with a prize of equivalent value and/or to terminate or withdraw this contest at any time. The decisions of the contest judges are final.
To be eligible, interactive entries must be received on the closing day of contest March 2, 2022 at about 8:00 pm EST. This contest is open to all residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), excluding employees of the Contest promoter and members of their respective immediate families and any person domiciled with any of the above. In these Official Rules, “immediate family” includes mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, partner or spouse.
Grand Prize Draw: On or around March 2, 2022 at about 8:00 pm EST at the CIM Magazine booth at the 2022 SME Annual Conference & EXPO an eligible entry will be drawn haphazardly among all the eligible entries registered throughout the contest period. The chosen participant will be notified by telephone or email. The chosen participant must correctly answer a mathematical question asked by telephone by a DOVETAIL COMMUNICATIONS INC. representative without use of any aid, in particular of a mechanical nature, to be declared the winner. If any of the conditions set forth in these rules are not respected, or if it is impossible to contact the chosen participant in the five business days following the draw, or if the chosen participant refuses the prize, then the person will be disqualified and will lose the prize and a second draw will take place so that the prize will be awarded to another participant in accordance with the present rules up until a participant is chosen and declared winner. In the event that no participant is declared winner in the sixty (60) days following the original daw, the promoter may, at its discretion, cancel the prize. Chances to win will depend on the number of valid entries received.
In the two (2) to four (4) weeks following the time a person chosen for the prize is declared winner, the promoter will contact the person who won a prize to inform them of the conditions for claiming their prize.
Chosen participants must sign a statement agreeing to conform to contest rules and an exclusion of liability freeing the promoter, its publicity agencies, the contest supervision agency, events, members from aforementioned groups, and all their administrators, directors, owners, partners, employees, agents, representatives, successors and those with respective rights (collectively known as “exclusion of liability beneficiaries”) from all responsibility for all damage arising from the present contest, contest participation or tentative participation, or from the use or acceptance of a prize in order to be declared winner. Statements and exclusion of liability documents must be received by the promoter in the ten (10) business days following the date indicated on the documents or the chosen participants will be disqualified and will lose their right to the prize, and prizes will be granted to participants whose registration will be drawn haphazardly among valid registrations received in accordance with these rules.
By participating in this contest, participants agree to the taking, use and communication of their personal information by the promoter and/or its authorized agents in order to manage the contest and grant prizes. By accepting the prize, all winners agree to the use of their names, images, address (city, province), voice, statements and pictures or other representations for advertising purposes without any notice or payment and may be required to sign a document to this effect. Personal information will not be otherwise used or communicated without prior agreement and no communication, commercial or other, not related to this contest will be sent to the participant unless otherwise agreed upon.
All entries become property of the Contest promoter, which assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for any failure of the website during the promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Contest promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from this promotion. The Contest promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Contest promoter and its directors, officers, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies, divisions and subsidiaries, corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way. Entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of the independent judging panel, which are final. This contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
Without being limited to the exclusion of liability set forth in paragraph 5, it is understood that the exclusion of liability beneficiaries are not to be held responsible for the poor operation of any computer component, software or communication line related to the loss or absence of a communication network, or related to any failed, incomplete, incomprehensible, or deleted transmission from any computer or network that limits any participant from the opportunity of participating in the contest. Those mentioned above also claim no responsibility for any damage or loss that may be caused, either directly or indirectly, in all or in part, from downloading any Internet page or software, or other, or from the transmission of any information regarding contest participation.
Website operation. The promoter does not, in any way, guarantee that the contest website will be accessible or operational without interruption throughout the contest period or that it will be exempt from all error.
Contest modifications. The promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, end, modify, or suspend, in total or in part, the present contest in case an event takes place or any other human intervention occurs that may alter or affect the administration, security, objectivity or operation of the contest as set forth in these rules.
Participants who do not follow the present official rules may be excluded from this contest and any other future contest or promotion held by the promoter. Contest rules are available at time of entry. Contest is subject to all applicable federal and provincial laws and all municipal regulations.
Prize acceptance. Prizes must be accepted as they are described in these rules and cannot be, in total or in part, transferred to another person, substituted by another prize or exchanged for money without prejudice to what is stipulated in the following paragraph.
Prize substitution. In the case that the promoter cannot attribute a prize (or part of a prize) as described in these rules, the promoter reserves the right to attribute a prize (or part of a prize) with one of the same nature and value, or, at the promoter’s discretion, with the monetary value of the prize (or part of the prize) indicated in these rules.
Verification. Participation entries and agreement and exclusion of liability documents are subject to verification by the promoter. Any participation entry or agreement or exclusion of liability document that is, as the case may be, incomplete, illegible, mutilated, fraudulent, registered or sent in late, indicating an invalid email address or that is otherwise not conform, may be rejected, and, as with the case of not correctly answering the mathematical question, will end the right to either registration or the prize, as the case may be.
The use of automated systems is prohibited. Only chosen participants will be contacted. In case of dispute regarding the person who validated the entry online, the latter will be considered to have been validated by the authorized account user for the email address indicated at the time the entry is validated. By “authorized email account user,” it is understood to be the physical person to whom the email address was assigned by an Internet supplier, an online service provider, or any other organization in charge of assigning email addresses for the domain linked to the email address in question. All chosen participants may be asked to supply the promoter with proof that he or she is the authorized account user of the email linked to the participation entry, and it is to this participant that the prize shall be granted if he or she is chosen and declared a winner.
The promoter reserves the right to exclude from the present contest and any other future contest or promotion held by the promoter, at its sole discretion, any person guilty or suspected of having manipulated the treatment of entries or the operation of the contest or contest site, broken the official rules, acted disloyally or in a way to harm or annoy, torment, threaten or harass another person. THE PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER PERSON WHO DELIBERATELY TRIES TO DAMAGE AN INTERNET SITE OR INTERFERE WITH THE LEGITAMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST COMMITS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE AND MISDEMEANOUR, AND THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT, IN SUCH A CASE, TO DEMAND FROM THIS PERSON ALL DAMAGES PERMITTED BY LAW.
Disqualification. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify a person or cancel one or more registrations of a person who participates or tries to participate in the present contest by using a means that goes against the present rules or in such a way that is unfair towards other participants (ex: request for participation without purchase beyond the limit allowed). This person may be referred to legal authorities with jurisdiction.
Prize limitations. The promoter cannot be asked to grant more prizes or to attribute a prize other that in accordance with the present rules.
Prize supplier’s responsibilities. All participants chosen for a prize recognize that starting at the time the prize is given, the obligation to supply services and products related to the prize become the sole responsibility of the prize’s service and product supplier.
Prize guarantees. All participants chosen for a prize recognize that the only guarantee applicable to prize components is the usual manufacturer guarantee.
End of contest participation. In the event that the computer system is unable to register all contest entries during the contest period for whatever reason that may be, or if contest participation should end completely or in part before the end date set forth in the present rules, draws may take place, at the promoter’s discretion, among the entries properly registered throughout the contest period, or, if applicable, up until the event date ends contest participation.
Communication with participants. There will be no communication or correspondence with participants regarding the present contest other than that pursuant to the present rules or at the promoter’s initiative.
Ownership. The agreement statement and exclusion of liability documents are the property of the promoter and shall not, under any circumstance, be returned to participants. Division of paragraphs. If any paragraph from these contest rules is declared or judged illegal, unenforceable or null by a court with jurisdiction, the paragraph will be considered null and void, but all other paragraphs not affected will be applied within the limits permitted by law.
